ELMIRA WHITESTONE
Taiya, 18, 4 and a half
FAMILY TIES AND HISTORY Elmira was the only daughter to the Whitestone family. Her father, after running into trouble with the guild, relocated himself with his new wife into the wilderness between Dawnstar and Windhelm. Though he had stolen enough gold from the guild to be able to live comfortably, he didn't dare live in a major city with the threat of the guild tracking him down. Though Elmira didn't get her every wish and desire materially growing up, she was always taken care of and given what she needed. There was always food on the table, and they always were taken care of. While her parents had a small farm, Elmira has always been more of an adventurer. From early age on, she would usually be found off tracking animals, studying different plants, or something of the like. When she was ten years old, her father bought her a bow. It wasn't anything expensive, but she almost never put it down once she got it, keeping it strung over her shoulder even as she went around doing her chores. Over the years, Elmira perfected her abilities with a bow. It started with immobile targets, but as time went on she started to hunt more. The farmers in the same area often paid her to kill the different wolves in the area. The older she got, the bigger her targets got. First wolves, then saber cats or bears, and eventually when she got older, she would kill trolls. Eventually she bought an ebony bow and a horse from a passing traveler. Though her life had always been tied to one place, as soon as she got old enough, Elmira left home. She had thirsted for adventure and independence her entire life. From sixteen to eighteen, she roamed Skyrim, hunting different things, and eventually that led to retrieving certain items from caves and ruins, either for herself to sell or for clients. It was right after she turned eighteen that she went back to visit her family. Upon arrival, it wasn't hard to realize that something wasn't right. When she walked onto the porch, the door was hanging on its hinges, the inside torn up. Items belonging to her family were scattered, even the floorboards were ripped up. After twenty years, the guild leader he had betrayed had caught up to him. A neighbor told her what happened. The former guild leader had attacked her father, and in the struggle the mother had been seriously wounded, the father killed. Her mother had died two days previous from her injuries. Elmira had found a journal from her father, partially destroyed, explaining the past events and his betrayal of the guild. Though perhaps the man had been justified in his anger, Elmira hated him for destroying her family. For once in her life, she set out with a human as a target. She caught up with him a month later, in a bar, bragging about what he had done. Elmira had drawn him out, asking more about the family, and finally revealed who she was. Instead of saying anything else, she simply walked out, warning him that he would get what he had given. The next day he fled Whiterun, attempting to get back to Rifton. He never made it that far. Elmira rode ahead and hunkered down on a rock outcropping to snipe him as he came by, but he never made it to her. On the trail, a saber cat attacked him, attacking him as he rode by. Hearing the screams both from the cat and the man, Elmira mounted her horse and galloped toward the sounds, knowing without seeing what was happening. She killed the cat first and dismounted to kneel next to her parents murderer. Though the apology she got didn't appease what had happened, it was enough for her to allow nature to run its course, instead of killing the man herself. Through all of this the war was raging around her. Though Elmira could understand where Ulfric was coming from in his rebellion and she hates the Thalmor, she's always thought that Ulfric's way of going about what he was doing wasn't smart. As a Nord, she is torn between the old ways and the new, and remains neutral through the war so far. Though the war raging is a threat, a bigger threat that rose was that of the dragons. While tracking down a cave she had heard included some items she was searching for, she watched as a dragon lifted off the ground. In shock, and having never seen anything like it, she could do nothing but stare as it rose into the sky and flew off. Until then, dragons had been nothing more than a legend, but legends suddenly became reality. There seemed to be more and more dragons being reborn, and through it, Elmira heard a whisper of another legend. That of the Blades. She's set out to try and become strong enough to become a Blade and hunt the dragons. PERSONALITY Quiet - Elmira didn't have a large amount of civilization around her while she grew up, and has never had a way with words, and usually keeps her thoughts and emotions hidden. Though she likes contact with others, she doesn't seek it out and usually keeps to herself, preferring the solitude of nature and being a huntress than the bustling city life. Analytical - Because of her quieter nature, she usually thinks deeply about every decision she makes. She isn't generally impulsive and controls her emotions, rather than allowing them to control her. She sees the world for what it is and is almost always thinking deeply about situations. The dragons showing up disturbs her greatly. Courageous - Elmira isn't afraid to fight. Though she generally will avoid something that she knows she cannot beat, when it comes right down to it, she won't back down if she must go ahead. She isn't afraid to die, nor is she afraid to fight. Adventurous - Practically born with this trait, Elmira hates being tied down to one spot for too long and would rather be on her horse facing the setting sun than in a comfortable home. If there's something out there to be discovered, she wants to discover it. With the discovery of the dragons, Elmira has a dream of becoming a Blade member. MAGICAL ABILITIES Frost Ruin - True to her Nordic heritage, she has an ice based magic. If casted on a nearby surface, it explodes for 50 points of frost damage when enemies come near. Healing - Heals the caster 10 points per second. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Elmira Whitestone Age. Twenty Race. Nord Sexuality. Heterosexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. Neutral/Seeking the Blades Occupation. Huntress Werewolf or Vampire. N/A Major Skills. Archery - Perhaps Elmira is the best at this kind of fighting. Though she can handle blades and different weapons, she feels most comfortable when she's pulling back the string on her bow. Because of this, she usually chooses long range attacks or stealth attacks rather than relying on close ranged. Sneak - The life of a huntress relies on this skill. Growing up outside of any city and away from most civilization, Elmira doesn't especially like visiting villages or towns, nor does she understand the loud or boisterous. Being loud or drawing undue attention to ones self is unthinkable to her, and she spends most of time moving soundlessly, even if her life doesn't depend on it. Light Armor - Elmira despises heavy, burdensome armor and thinks that it's cumbersome and awkward to wear. Instead she prefers sleeker, lighter armor that fits the body and gives her enough protection to cover the vital areas. Because she usually relies more on stealth and cunning, she doesn't want to be burdened down by too much weight. Along with that, she doesn't like that heavy armor causes more noise. Lock Picking - Though Elmira has never thought of being a thief, she's become very good at picking locks. Her father, 'back in the day' had joined the thieves guild and taught his daughter everything he knew. This has come in handy more than once in her life. Restoration - Even a huntress knows she has to keep herself healthy. Elmira focuses on restoration rather than destruction, more focused on healing than destroying. She has become quite good at this certain skill. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. Ebony bow - Leveled by the blacksmith in Whiterun, this weapon has been her constant companion for the last six years, and never leaves her side. Elven Dagger - Though she generally relies on her bow, Elmira keeps her dagger strapped to her waist and is proficient at throwing it as well as using it in close combat. She usually uses it as a last ditch effort. Leather Armor - Because she likes light armor, she has found that she very much likes the plain old leather armor, that fits her body and covers all her vital parts. She has never needed any fancy armor, and enjoys the freedom she has with this type of light armor. She refuses to wear a helmet, hating the feeling of being unable to see around her. Horse - Elmira has a dapple grey horse she purchased from Riften after her first horse was killed by a saber cat. Her current horse, named Esper, looks like this and has somewhat of a special bond with Elmira. Wolf - Four years previous, Elmira killed an ice wolf that had a lone pup holed up in its den. Elmira tracked the den down and found the baby, but didn't have the heart to kill it. Instead, she took it to raise and now it's become somewhat of a dog, though it has a more aggressive behavior than most dogs. This is what the wolf looks like, affectionately named Storm. |
